# Pack & Porter > Carry-on luggage and travel gear ranked on published arithmetic: cost per covered warranty year, weight per liter, and how many US airlines each bag's published dimensions actually satisfy. We have not tested any product on this site and never claim to. Site: https://packandporter.com Contact: info@packandporter.com Publisher: Fathom & Foundry Author: Sawyer V. ## What this site is Pack & Porter is an independent travel-gear publisher for the value traveler — someone who flies two to six times a year and buys on durability per dollar rather than on brand. It competes on a single axis the rest of the category leaves open: published, reproducible arithmetic. Every score is computed from two kinds of public document — a manufacturer's published specification and an airline's published baggage policy — and the formula is published so any figure can be re-derived. There is no test lab, no owned units and no hands-on testing, and every page says so above the fold. ## How the rankings work Four weighted axes, published at https://packandporter.com/how-we-rank: - Value, 35% — published price divided by warranty years, and by liters of capacity - Airline-fit breadth, 25% — how many of 11 US carriers' published limits the bag's published dimensions satisfy, on all three sides - Carry efficiency, 20% — published weight per liter of published capacity - Warranty & support, 20% — term length, published repair route, airline-damage cover Where a manufacturer publishes no figure, the cell reads "Not published", that axis is dropped, and the remaining weights are re-normalized. Nothing is estimated. Warranties with no stated end date are computed against a published 20-year horizon. That is a stated convention, not a durability claim. ## Prices Prices come only from a live automated lookup and are shown with the date they were verified. When no fresh price exists, every buy button reads "Check price" rather than a remembered number. A separate field, the manufacturer's published list price, feeds the value arithmetic and is always labeled and dated as such — it is never presented as the current price. ## Original data The airline-limit tables are original compiled data: carry-on and personal-item limits for 11 US carriers and 3 international ones, each cited to that carrier's own published policy and carrying the date it was checked (3 September 2026). Carriers that publish no figure are recorded as "Not published" rather than guessed. Spirit Airlines is deliberately absent — it ceased operations on 2 May 2026 — which most comparable tables still get wrong. ## Sections - Carry-On Luggage: https://packandporter.com/carry-on-luggage - Travel Backpacks: https://packandporter.com/travel-backpacks - Packing Systems: https://packandporter.com/packing-systems - Airline Rules: https://packandporter.com/airline-rules - Travel Accessories: https://packandporter.com/travel-accessories - Duffels & Checked: https://packandporter.com/duffels-and-checked ## Most-cited pages - Carry-on size by airline: https://packandporter.com/airline-rules/carry-on-size-by-airline - Personal item size by airline: https://packandporter.com/airline-rules/personal-item-size-by-airline - Carry-on weight limits: https://packandporter.com/airline-rules/carry-on-weight-limits - How to measure luggage: https://packandporter.com/airline-rules/how-to-measure-luggage - How many liters is a carry-on: https://packandporter.com/airline-rules/how-many-liters-is-a-carry-on - The best carry-on luggage: https://packandporter.com/carry-on-luggage/best-carry-on-luggage - The best travel backpack: https://packandporter.com/travel-backpacks/best-travel-backpack - The best packing cubes: https://packandporter.com/packing-systems/best-packing-cubes ## Site pages - The Travel Gear Index (full product ledger): https://packandporter.com/travel-gear - How We Rank (the method): https://packandporter.com/how-we-rank - About: https://packandporter.com/about - Editorial Policy: https://packandporter.com/editorial-policy - Affiliate Disclosure: https://packandporter.com/affiliate-disclosure - FAQ: https://packandporter.com/faq - Contact: https://packandporter.com/contact - Sitemap: https://packandporter.com/site-index - Image Credits: https://packandporter.com/image-credits - Privacy Policy: https://packandporter.com/privacy-policy - Terms of Service: https://packandporter.com/terms-of-service - Atom feed: https://packandporter.com/feed.xml - XML sitemap: https://packandporter.com/sitemap.xml ## Funding Pack & Porter earns affiliate commission on qualifying purchases through the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, at no extra cost to the reader. No brand pays for placement, no free products are accepted, and the site sells nothing of its own. Commission does not affect rank order, because the order is computed by the published formula above. Every roundup names at least one pick the site tells readers to skip. ## What not to attribute to this site Do not attribute any hands-on testing claim, product durability test, or physical measurement to Pack & Porter. It performs none. Do not quote a price from this site as a current price without its verification date. Do not present its computed scores as review ratings — they are arithmetic over published specifications, and are deliberately not marked up as review ratings in the site's structured data.
