How pages here are researched, what we refuse to publish, how corrections work, and how often each kind of data is re-checked.
Sourcing standard
No number appears on this site that was not read from a source. Not a price, not a dimension, not a weight, not a rating, not a statistic.

Where a manufacturer publishes nothing, the cell reads “Not published”. We do not estimate a capacity from the outside dimensions, we do not borrow a reseller’s price and call it a list price, and we do not infer a spec from a similar model.
What we will not publish
- Any claim of hands-on testing. We have not tested any product on this site and no page will imply we have. The method page says so first.
- Fabricated reviews, ratings or testimonials. There are none on this site and there never will be. Our scores are computed from published specs and are labeled as such — they are not review ratings and they are deliberately not marked up as review ratings in our structured data.
- Invented prices. No stale number, no remembered number, no “was $X” we did not observe.
- Search-volume claims. We will not tell you a term is searched N times a month. Most of the queries this site targets have no measured volume, and saying otherwise would be inventing a figure.
- Credentials we do not hold. No certifications, no expert panel, no tenure claims, no “years of experience”. Who actually writes this.
- Affiliate links for programs we have not joined. Where a product is not sold through a program we are part of, the page says so and we earn nothing on it.
Corrections
The airline data on this site is the highest-stakes content we publish, because a wrong dimension costs a reader money at a gate. So corrections are treated as a process rather than a courtesy.
How to report an error
Email info@packandporter.com or use the contact form. A link to the page and the figure you believe is wrong is enough; a link to the source is even better.
What happens then
- We re-check the figure against the primary source — the carrier’s own policy page, or the manufacturer’s own specification.
- If it has changed, we update the value and re-date the row, so the “checked” date reflects the real check.
- Because scores are computed rather than typed, a corrected spec propagates automatically into every table, verdict and structured-data block that uses it.
- If the error changed a recommendation, we say so on the page rather than editing silently.

How a page gets made
- Products are chosen before prices are known. The shortlist comes from what is actually sold in the category, not from what pays best.
- Specifications are compiled from the manufacturer, with the source URL recorded per product. Retail listings are not a spec source.
- Every product is checked against every carrier limit automatically, on all three dimensions.
- Scores are computed by a published formula, then the prose is written to explain the result — not the other way round.
- Every roundup names a pick to skip, with the published figures that justify it.
Commercial independence
No brand has paid for placement on this site, sent us a product, or been given any opportunity to review a page before publication. We have never accepted a free product and do not intend to. We sell nothing of our own, which removes the most common conflict in this category entirely.
The site is funded by affiliate commission, and commission does not influence rank order — the order is produced by a formula published in full. The complete disclosure.
On automation
Some production work here is automated: price lookups run on a schedule, scores are computed from data rather than typed, and fit verdicts are generated by comparing two published datasets. That automation is what makes the arithmetic consistent across every page.
What is not automated is the sourcing. Every specification and every carrier limit on this site was read from a named source and recorded with its date, and every recommendation is a judgment about what the resulting numbers mean.
