Pack & Porter

Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 September 2026. Pack & Porter is operated by Fathom & Foundry.

What we collect

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read, roughly where readers are, and which buy links get clicked. This is aggregate and we cannot use it to identify you.
  • Contact form submissions. If you write to us, we receive your name, email address and message. That is stored in an email inbox and used to reply to you.
  • Server logs. Our host records standard request data — IP address, user agent, timestamp — as any web server does. We use it only for security and to apply the rate limit on the contact form.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent any data about you, to anyone, ever.
  • We have no accounts, no logins and no user profiles.
  • We do not run a newsletter or an email list.
  • We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels, heatmaps, session recording or A/B testing tools. The only third-party script on this site is Google Analytics.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish one visit from another and to measure how long people spend on a page. We set no cookies of our own — the site has no login, no cart and no preferences to remember.

You can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s own opt-out extension. Nothing on this site stops working if you do; we simply lose the analytics.

Buy links on this site pass through /go/ on our own domain before redirecting to the retailer, with our tracking tag attached. That tells the retailer the visit came from us so a commission can be paid.

The retailer — principally Amazon — then applies its own privacy policy and its own cookies, over which we have no control and no visibility. We can see that a link was clicked; we cannot see what you subsequently bought, or whether you bought anything at all. Our affiliate disclosure.

Third parties involved

  • Vercel — hosting. Processes requests and keeps standard server logs.
  • Google Analytics 4 — traffic measurement.
  • Microsoft (Graph) — delivers contact-form messages to our inbox.
  • Amazon — the destination of affiliate links, and the source of the product price and image data shown on the site.

How long we keep things

Contact-form emails are kept as long as they are useful for the conversation and for any correction that came out of it. Analytics data is retained under Google’s standard retention settings. Server logs are retained by our host under its own policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Realistically, the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us.

To ask about any of that, email info@packandporter.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it and we describe what changed rather than quietly editing. The same principle applies to our content.
