The Best Travel Accessories Under $25
The cheap end of this category is where published warranties disappear and marketing claims take over. These are the ones that publish a price, a specification and - in two cases - a term with no end date.
We have not tested this gear. Every figure here is compiled from published manufacturer specifications and published airline policies, and the arithmetic is public so you can check it. This page contains affiliate links — see the affiliate disclosure.
The Nalgene Wide Mouth 32 oz at $16.99 under a lifetime guarantee — $0.85 per covered year, the lowest figure anywhere on this site. After that: the Etekcity EL11 luggage scale at $10.99, which pays for itself the first time it saves an overweight fee, and the Addalock at $17.95, the cheapest meaningful security product we compile.
Manufacturer-published prices, specifications and warranty terms, compiled 3 September 2026. Cost per covered year uses the published 20-year horizon for terms with no stated end date. We have not tested this gear.

What disappears under $25
Eleven products in this ledger publish a price under $25. Read across them and the pattern is not quality — several are excellent — it is paperwork. Below this price most makers stop publishing a warranty term, and several stop publishing a weight or a dimension at all.

$0.85 a year is not a typo
Nalgene publishes a lifetime guarantee on a $16.99 bottle. Against the site’s published 20-year horizon that is $0.85 per covered year — the lowest cost-per-year figure of any product on this site, cheaper per year than a packing cube, a shoe sac or a suitcase by an order of magnitude.
It is also the accessory that saves the most money in use. A 0.95 L bottle filled after the checkpoint replaces every bottle of airport water you would otherwise buy, and it is the one item on this page whose payback you can actually observe. Bottles compared, including the collapsible ones.
The two that pay for themselves
- Etekcity EL11, $10.99. A published 110 lb capacity in 0.1 lb increments, against airline caps enforced in whole pounds. One avoided overweight fee — typically far more than the scale — and it has paid for itself for good. What an overweight bag actually costs.
- Addalock, $17.95. Chrome-plated steel that defeats a key, a keycard and a master key on an inward-opening hinged door. It is the cheapest product in this ledger that changes a real outcome rather than a convenience. Where it works and where it does not.
Cost per fluid ounce, since nobody prints it
Three of the eleven are containers for liquids, and their cost per fluid ounce of published capacity varies by a factor of six:
| Bottle | Published capacity | Published price | Per fl oz |
|---|---|---|---|
| humangear GoToob+ (Large) | 3.4 fl oz | $9.99 | $2.94 |
| Matador FlatPak | 3.0 fl oz | $15.00 | $5.00 |
| Cadence Medium Capsule | 1.32 fl oz | $24.00 | $18.18 |
The GoToob+ is the only one of the three that uses the whole 3.4 fl oz allowance per container, which is what makes it both the cheapest per ounce and the fewest objects in the quart bag. What the liquids rule actually specifies.
What “no warranty term” actually means
Seven of the eleven publish no warranty term. That is not automatically a reason to avoid them — a $11 strap that fails after four years has cost you very little — but it does change how you should read a price.
A $20 Eagle Creek shoe sac with a repair route published is a different product from a $20 strap with nothing published, even though the shelf price is identical. The site’s value axis exists precisely to make that visible. How the arithmetic works.
The picks
- Nalgene Wide Mouth 32 oz — the pick. $16.99, 6.3 oz, 0.95 L, lifetime guarantee, $0.85 a year. Its con: rigid, 8.25 in tall, and it must be empty at the checkpoint every single time.
- Etekcity EL11 — the one that avoids a fee. $10.99, 4.8 oz, 110 lb capacity in 0.1 lb steps. Its con: a hanging scale means lifting a heavy checked bag clear of the floor.
- Addalock — the cheapest real security. $17.95, no tools, no damage. Its con: useless on outward-opening and sliding doors, and no published weight or warranty.
- humangear GoToob+ Large — the bottle to buy three of. Exactly 3.4 fl oz at $9.99, published as TSA-compliant and FDA food-safe. Its con: no published weight, and silicone keeps smells.
- Loop Quiet 2 — the sleep pick. A published 24 dB SNR that works on irregular noise, which active cancellation largely does not. Its con: $24.95 against foam plugs publishing comparable figures, and no warranty term.
Every pick, with the working
Each entry below shows the published inputs, the four axis scores they produce, and what you give up. The order is the computed order, not a commercial one.
1 · Filling after the checkpoint and never buying airport water again
Nalgene Wide Mouth Sustain Bottle (32 oz)
0.95 L of published capacity is, to within a rounding error, exactly the TSA quart — the same volume that caps your entire liquids allowance, in a bottle you carry through empty.
- Published size
- 8.25 × 3.5 × 3.5 in
- Weight
- 0.39 lb
- Capacity
- 0.95 L
- Weight per liter
- 0.41 lb/L
- Cost per covered year
- $0.85/yr
- Published list price
- $16.99
Warranty Nalgene lifetime guarantee
Fits 11 of 11 US carriers: AA, DL, UA, WN, AS, B6, F9, G4, HA, MX, SY. See the limits.
What it does well
- $16.99 published under a lifetime guarantee is $0.85 per covered year
- 6.25 oz for 32 oz of capacity, and the wide mouth takes ice and filters
- Published leakproof and dishwasher safe, which most collapsible bottles are not
What you give up
- 8.25 in tall and rigid — it does not compress when empty the way a soft flask does
- 3.5 in diameter competes with a laptop for the flat space in a personal item
- It must be empty at the checkpoint, every time, without exception
The arithmetic behind the score
- Value 5.0/10 — $16.99 ÷ 20 yr = $0.85/yr; $16.99 ÷ 0.95 L = $17.88/L
- Airline-fit breadth 10.0/10 — Fits the published carry-on limit at 11 of 11 US carriers: AA, DL, UA, WN, AS, B6, F9, G4, HA, MX, SY
- Carry efficiency 0.0/10 — 0.39 lb ÷ 0.95 L = 0.411 lb/L
- Warranty & support 6.0/10 — no stated end date (6 of 6); no published repair route (+0); airline damage not covered (+0)
Weights and breakpoints are published on how we rank. Where an input is not published, that axis is dropped and the remaining weights are re-normalized.
Specs: Nalgene published specifications and price, compiled 3 September 2026. Nalgene publishes a height of 8.25 in and a diameter of 3.5 in. The diameter is repeated on two axes for consistent formatting.
2 · Anyone flying a carrier that publishes a cabin or checked weight cap
Etekcity EL11 Digital Luggage Scale
A published 0.1 lb graduation against airline weight caps enforced in whole pounds — this is the cheapest way in this ledger to never pay an overweight fee again.
- Published size
- 5.1 × 2.4 × 1.2 in
- Weight
- 0.3 lb
- Capacity

- Weight per liter

- Cost per covered year

- Published list price
- $10.99
Warranty 2 year limited warranty
Fits 11 of 11 US carriers: AA, DL, UA, WN, AS, B6, F9, G4, HA, MX, SY. See the limits.
What it does well
- $10.99 published against a 2 year warranty is $5.50 per covered year
- 110 lb / 50 kg capacity covers a checked bag at twice the standard 50 lb allowance
- 4.8 oz and 5.1 in long — it lives in the bag it weighs
What you give up
- A hanging scale needs you to lift the bag clear of the floor, which a heavy checked bag makes awkward
- 2 year warranty is short next to the luggage it weighs
- The bathroom-scale method costs nothing and is accurate to about a pound
The arithmetic behind the score
- Value 9.6/10 — $10.99 ÷ 2 yr = $5.50/yr
- Airline-fit breadth 10.0/10 — Fits the published carry-on limit at 11 of 11 US carriers: AA, DL, UA, WN, AS, B6, F9, G4, HA, MX, SY
- Carry efficiency not scored — No published capacity, so weight per liter cannot be computed.
- Warranty & support 0.5/10 — 2 yr (0.5 of 6); no published repair route (+0); airline damage not covered (+0)
Weights and breakpoints are published on how we rank. Where an input is not published, that axis is dropped and the remaining weights are re-normalized.
Specs: Etekcity published specifications and price, compiled 3 September 2026.
3 · Hotel and rental rooms where you cannot verify who holds a key
Addalock Portable Door Lock

What it does well
- Works against anyone holding a key or keycard, which a door chain does not reliably do
- $17.95 published, the cheapest meaningful security product on this site
- Fits inward-opening hinged doors with no tools and no damage
What you give up
- Addalock publishes neither a weight nor a dimension, so two scoring axes cannot be computed
- Useless on outward-opening doors, sliding doors and many European hotel doors
- No published warranty term
The arithmetic behind the score
- Value not scored — No published warranty term or capacity to divide the price by.
- Airline-fit breadth not scored — No published dimensions to check against carrier limits.
- Carry efficiency not scored — No published capacity, so weight per liter cannot be computed.
- Warranty & support 0.0/10 — no published term (0 of 6); no published repair route (+0); airline damage not covered (+0)

4 · Keeping one pair of dirty soles away from everything else
Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Shoe Sac
A published 3 oz and 3 liters to keep one pair of shoes off your clothes — the mesh panel means you can see which pair without opening it.
- Published size
- 16 × 11 × 0.5 in

Warranty No Matter What limited warranty
Fits 11 of 11 US carriers: AA, DL, UA, WN, AS, B6, F9, G4, HA, MX, SY. See the limits.
What it does well
- Published to fit one pair up to US Men's 13, which is a real capacity claim rather than a vague one
- 3 oz published, and it packs flat when empty
- No Matter What warranty with a published repair route
What you give up
- $20 for a bag that holds one pair — two pairs means two of them
- Mesh is breathable, which also means it is not a smell barrier
- 3 L is genuinely small; boots will not fit
The arithmetic behind the score
- Value 6.6/10 — $20 ÷ 20 yr = $1/yr; $20 ÷ 3 L = $6.67/L
- Airline-fit breadth 10.0/10 — Fits the published carry-on limit at 11 of 11 US carriers: AA, DL, UA, WN, AS, B6, F9, G4, HA, MX, SY
- Carry efficiency 9.5/10 — 0.1875 lb ÷ 3 L = 0.063 lb/L
- Warranty & support 8.0/10 — no stated end date (6 of 6); repair published (+2); airline damage not covered (+0)
Weights and breakpoints are published on how we rank. Where an input is not published, that axis is dropped and the remaining weights are re-normalized.
Specs: Eagle Creek published specifications and price, compiled 3 September 2026. Eagle Creek publishes 16 x 11 in for the flat sac. The 0.5 in depth here is a nominal figure for an empty flat pouch and is not a published number.
5 · Filling the 3-1-1 quart efficiently without overthinking it
humangear GoToob+ Silicone Travel Bottle (Large, 3.4 fl oz)
The most capacity per dollar in this category by a wide margin — a published 3.4 fl oz for $9.99, which is exactly the 3-1-1 ceiling and nothing wasted.

What it does well
- 3.4 fl oz is exactly the TSA container limit, so no capacity is left unused
- Published as both TSA-approved and FDA food-safe
- A locking collar on the cap, and silicone squeezes empty where rigid bottles do not
What you give up
- No published weight or dimensions, so two of our scoring axes cannot be computed
- No warranty term published at all
- Silicone picks up the smell of whatever lived in it previously
The arithmetic behind the score
- Value 0.0/10 — $9.99 ÷ 0.1 L = $99.90/L
- Airline-fit breadth not scored — No published dimensions to check against carrier limits.
- Carry efficiency not scored — No published weight, so weight per liter cannot be computed.
- Warranty & support 0.0/10 — no published term (0 of 6); no published repair route (+0); airline damage not covered (+0)

6 · One-bag travelers counting grams, and anyone who wants a spec sheet
Matador FlatPak Toiletry Bottle (3 fl oz)
The only bottle here that publishes every figure — capacity, weight, dimensions, fabric and a warranty term — and at a published 0.41 oz it is the lightest way to carry a liquid.
- Published size
- 4.3 × 3.1 × 0.9 in
- Weight

- Capacity
- 0.09 L
- Weight per liter
- 0.29 lb/L
- Cost per covered year
- $7.50/yr
- Published list price
- $15
Warranty 2 year warranty
Fits 11 of 11 US carriers: AA, DL, UA, WN, AS, B6, F9, G4, HA, MX, SY. See the limits.
What it does well
- Publishes capacity, weight, dimensions, fabric and a 2 year warranty — a full spec sheet
- 0.41 oz empty, and it packs flat when empty rather than holding its shape
- 30D Cordura ripstop, published without intentional PFAS
What you give up
- 3 fl oz is just under the 3.4 fl oz TSA ceiling, so a little allowance goes unused
- $15 for 3 fl oz is the middle of this field on cost per ounce of capacity
- A soft pouch is harder to dispense from precisely than a rigid bottle
The arithmetic behind the score
- Value 4.5/10 — $15 ÷ 2 yr = $7.50/yr; $15 ÷ 0.09 L = $166.67/L
- Airline-fit breadth 10.0/10 — Fits the published carry-on limit at 11 of 11 US carriers: AA, DL, UA, WN, AS, B6, F9, G4, HA, MX, SY

7 · Sleeping on an overnight flight, and the crying child two rows back

What it does well
- Published 24 dB SNR certified reduction, on irregular noise as well as engine drone
- Reusable silicone with four ear tip sizes, rather than disposable foam
- Weighs and packs like nothing, which no over-ear headphone does
What you give up
- No warranty term published, only a 100 day return policy
- No published weight, so carry efficiency cannot be scored
- $24.95 is real money against foam plugs that publish comparable NRR figures
The arithmetic behind the score
- Value not scored — No published warranty term or capacity to divide the price by.
- Airline-fit breadth not scored — No published dimensions to check against carrier limits.

8 · Small quantities of expensive product, kept tidy
Cadence The Medium Capsule (1.32 fl oz)
Skip this one. The one product here that does not survive the arithmetic. $24 buys a published 1.32 fl oz — roughly six times the cost per fluid ounce of the $9.99 GoToob+, which holds 3.4 fl oz. Cadence publishes no weight, no dimensions and no warranty term to justify that. The magnetic modular system is genuinely well made and worth buying if the tidiness is what you want; it is not a cheap way to carry liquids, and this page is about cheap ways to carry things.
The magnetic modular system is genuinely clever and the published arithmetic is brutal: $24 for 1.32 fl oz is roughly six times the cost per ounce of the cheapest bottle here.

What it does well
- Published as 100% leakproof, and the capsules clip together so they cannot scatter in a bag
- Made from recycled ocean-bound plastic
- Interchangeable labeled tiles, so you can tell shampoo from conditioner
What you give up
- $24 for 1.32 fl oz — about six times the cost per fluid ounce of the GoToob+
- Cadence publishes no weight, no dimensions and no warranty term
- 1.32 fl oz is well under the 3.4 fl oz you are allowed, so you carry more containers
