Samsonite Freeform vs Samsonite Omni PC
Same brand, same ten-year term, and a published price difference of $2.50. Everything that matters here is in the dimensions, and they are not the same shape at all.

The Omni PC, on published figures: 22 × 15 × 9.75 in against the Freeform’s 23 × 15 × 10 in, which is the difference between clearing 4 US carriers and clearing 3. It is also 0.55 lb lighter and $2.50 cheaper as published. The Freeform’s case is its shape: a deeper box on the carriers that publish room for it.

Note the weight row contradicts the rest: the Freeform is the lighter case at a published 6.5 lb against 7.05 lb, despite being the bigger box. That is the one axis where it wins outright.
The inch that decides it
The Omni PC publishes 22 in of overall height. The Freeform publishes 23 in. The limit at eight of the eleven US carriers we track is 22 in, including wheels and handles.
Neither case clears the strict 22 × 14 × 9 in box — both publish 15 in of width against a 14 in limit, so both are out at the standard-box carriers regardless. What the inch buys is Allegiant, which publishes 22 × 16 × 10 in: roomy on width and depth, unforgiving on height. The Omni PC clears it. The Freeform does not.
So the fit result is 4 of 11 against 3 of 11: both clear Southwest, Frontier and Sun Country; only the Omni PC adds Allegiant. The bags that clear the strict box is a different and much shorter list, and no Samsonite hardside is on it.
Two different shells
Samsonite publishes the Omni PC as 100% polycarbonate with a micro-diamond texture. The Freeform is also a hardside, and the two cases behave differently for a reason the spec sheet only hints at: the Freeform publishes 10 in of depth against the Omni PC’s 9.75 in, and it is the lighter of the two, which means less shell for more volume.
Lighter shell, bigger box, same warranty — that is a fair trade if you fly the carriers with room for it, and a bad one if you are trying to squeak past a sizer. The hardside case in general covers what a shell is and is not good for.
The warranty is the same promise
Both publish Samsonite’s limited 10 year global warranty. Converted to cost per covered year that is $12.75 and $13.00 — a difference of twenty-five cents a year, which is not a reason to choose either.
For context, the cheapest open-ended warranty in our ledger runs $1.75 per covered year and the Travelpro Maxlite 5 runs $8.00. Every open-ended warranty, costed puts both of these in context: a ten-year term on a $128 case is mid-table.
The verdict
Buy the Omni PC if
You want the better fit result and the polycarbonate shell Samsonite publishes a spec for. It clears one more carrier, costs $2.50 less, and scores 5.4 against 5.1.
Buy the Freeform if
You fly Southwest, Frontier or Sun Country and want the lighter, deeper case. A published 6.5 lb is 0.55 lb less to lift into a bin, and 10 in of depth is usable on all three of those carriers.
Buy neither if
You need a carry-on that passes everywhere. Both publish 15 in of width against a 14 in standard, and width is the dimension a gate sizer is least forgiving about, because it decides whether the bag drops into the frame at all.
